Caitlin Applegate bio:

In 2000, Caitlin received her BFA in Printmaking and Ceramics from the University of Hartford’s Hartford Art School in West Hartford, Connecticut. After a year of independent study in Anchorage Alaska, and six months as an artist in residence in Northern, CA, Caitlin moved to Lincoln, NE to pursue a Masters degree from the three year MFA program at the University of Nebraska Lincoln.

During her study, Caitlin was an artist on the Lincoln Art Council's Stories of Home Project. In addition to taking part in this ambitious public art project, Caitlin also worked as a board member at the Haydon Art Center, a local 501(c)3 art organization. After finishing her MFA in the spring of 2007, Caitlin went on to work as an artist in residence at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts in Omaha, NE. In the fall of 2007, Caitlin was awarded an Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant.

Caitlin’s work has been exhibited both regionally and nationally; including solo and group shows at the Clay Studio in Philadelphia, The Leedy Voulkos Art Center in Kansas City, the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts and the Sheldon Museum of Art in Nebraska.

In the summer of 2008, Caitlin moved home to upstate NY where she presently works and teaches.
